We're talking this one:
This place was recommended to me by a friend who previously ate here whilst vacationing in Cabo.
It's literally on the beach, behind (coming from the street) Hotel Casa Dorada. The whole restaurant is outdoors on the beach, and all the tables & chairs are set up on the sand with fans & umbrellas. As it turned out, this idea was much cooler in theory than in practice. The table was uneven and by the end of the meal, our chairs were half sunk into the ground. Whoops. Also, if you have the opportunity to come here, make sure you do not get seated in the row of tables closest to the beach! It might seem like a great idea, since you can see the ocean and all, but trust, it is not. You will be swarmed by masses of beach vendors whilst you are eating, who are trying to sell you absurdly expensive & not so funny t-shirts, people trying to draw funny pictures of you as you eat, and jewelry that will fall apart in 2 hours.
Onto the food! The lowdown:
Sampled on: 08/22/2009
Sets you back: $10-20/person
Where it's at: On the beach as you enter downtown Cabo San Lucas, behind Hotel Casa Dorada
Cuisine: Mexican
Between the 4 of us, we got 2 orders of Deep Fried Machaca Fish Tacos, 1 order of Shrimp Tacos, 1 order of Enchiladas, and chips & dip.
The Deep Fried Machaca Fish Tacos, as it turned out, were not the more glorious version of the Rubio's World Famous Fish Tacos we were envisioning slash hoping for. They turned out to be fish taquitos stuffed with shredded fish, topped with lettuce, cotija cheese, & tomatoes. Interesting, different indeed, but all in all, quite tasty! I would have liked to taste the fish more though.
The shrimp tacos were quite scrumptious, if I do say so myself! They were grilled, and placed atop a tomatoey salsa concoction in a corn tortillas. Came with a side of garlic rice with corn (<3 garlic), a leaf-ful of guacamole, beans (bleh. </3), & some greens. Yum!
The enchiladas... I cannot speak for. But fellow fatty Regina tells me it was quite delicious as well. Perhaps she can impart further on the integrity of her enchilada. :) Also came with a side of the rice, guac, & beans.
The chips & dip were chips & dip. Thick corn tortilla chips served with pico de gallo & guacamole. Delicious!
I was also advised to get the chilaquiles here, but alas, they did not have them whilst we were there. :(
The verdict: great location, so-so dining experience, good food, good price - a worthwhile venture! Great place to eat for lunch if you have water activities in mind for the afternoon, since they are all less than a hop & a skip from the restaurant!

My plate was actually Chile Relleno stuffed with cheese and accompanied by a chicken Enchilada. Both were incredibly flavorful and delicious, and I'm sorry I didn't make you eat any of it yourself Angela =P
