Yelp it!
I had pretty much forgotten about this place until fellow fatty Regina came down this past weekend with a hankering for some sushi. I'd forgotten about it mostly because I don't like to brave The Cove traffic, and it's on the pricier side, but it's La Jolla, what do you expect from eating sushi by the ocean?
Anyhow, our table got 4 rolls:
Anju Roll
Homeless Roll: My favorite one of the night. Soft shell crab is amazing <3
Mexican Gone Wild Roll: shrimp tempura, avocado, lobster meat on top
Sakura Roll: wrapped in soy paper, shrimp tempura, imitation crab, cucumber
Overall, this place is good, and probably the best AYCE sushi you can get in the area. The rolls are fancy and there is a lot of variety, but I wouldn't say that the quality is top notch. Worth visiting if you are in La Jolla Cove though and a good place for happy hour! If you are in the area, I'd also recommend visiting Goldfish Point Cafe for some coffee and a great view of the ocean. If you don't feel like fighting the Cove traffic, Sushi Yoshi is another AYCE worth trying (especially for the hamachi kama).
